The sporty attitude, a true passion for “punchipunchi”-music (Spanish slang for 4-to-the-floor) and a frequently washed yellow towel became the source of inspiration for the PUNCHI-cooperation.

What is the PUNCHI?

Sweat with a passion? Punchi is your cool companion in heated situations. A scarf that’s a towel. A towel that’s a scarf.  On the dancefloor, in the street or at the beach – The Punchi is an essential accessory for all occasions.

Where does the PUNCHI come from?

The Punchi is a remix of the towel with a scarf. So, it’s little wonder that the idea was born out of the collaboration between ROBOSONIC and their close friend & designer Kim, who already did several coverartworks like “Sturm und Drang”.
During long DJ sets or dancing well into the morning, they all would sweat. And sweat hard. To stay fresh in these intense situations, they would wear towels around their necks on the dancefloor and on stage. But was there a more stylish alternative?
Fuelled by green tea, brainstorming for a more practical, elegant solution began. Narrowing the towel, it transformed into a scarf. The Punchi was born. Soon, early prototypes were being tested in the clubs of Berlin. The team realized the Punchi’s appeal was lasted well after a night on the dancefloor. It kept you dry dancing, warm walking between clubs, and fresh in the gym too. The only problem was knowing when to take it off!

The discovery was too good to keep to themselves and friends…So here it is: the Punchi, fresh and hand-rolled in Kreuzberg, Berlin.

The older much wiser brother of the BKI is the BMI – Berlin Mitte Institut für Bessere Elektronische Musik.
The BMI is a collective of some music enthusiasts who are running a platform for the experimentation of concepts related to electronic music culture. Currently, the main crew of the BMI consist of Fresh Meat, who has been running the show with Kandel for the last couple of years.

The BMI broadcasts bi-weekly (since October 2006) each and every second Monday from 7 pm CET till midnight on Shouted.FM in LIVE video and audio streaming. After the shows, snippets and recordings are made available to watch, listen to and download on YouTube and SoundCloud.

During their shows, Fresh Meat and Kandel make the effort not just to play great music, but also to get their guests to open up and give a deeper look at what makes them tick – live and uncut!

The playlists include national and international electronic “players”, who will talk about their definition of “better electronic music”. The BMI  has  already presented various labels, clubs, event promoters and  other  concepts such as Minus, Mobilee, Berghain/Panorama Bar, Get Physical, Poker Flat and many more…

Once a month the BMI airs the “New Releases Show” to showcase the latest releases of labels and unsigned artists, big and small, and give comments and feedback.

Some months ago, we got asked by 5 Design students from the Georg-Simon-Ohm Hochschule in Nürnberg Germany (GRATTLER PRODUCTIONS = Robert Gruss, Florian Leitl, Kristina Peter, Sebastian Schierwater, Nils Strehlow) if they could use a track of our ROBOSONIC album “STURM UND DRANG” to make a music video for their 3rd semester Film course. For sure!

The outcome of their intense teamwork is the “SPRACHFEHLER” music video. It’s about pills, obsession, a little man living inside a head, about drinking cleaning agent, a Dirndl-lady playing the saxophone, about parallel universes, surfing on smarties, dreamy stuff and funky music.

Hands on Sound comprise of a young team of artists who specialise in the creation and development of adaptive and interactive audio environments. Through the use of their custom built hardware and software systems, they create and compose individually tailored sound-installations for a variety of applications. The team is centered around Max Kullmann and Jan Paul Herzer from Berlin, who share key skills in sound design, architecture and programming.

Hands on Sound are currently working on a sound installation with Robosonic, which explores the possibilities of making a highly interactive club-track giving the listeners the possibility of remixing and even creating a Robosonic-track themselves.

The installation “Die gelbe Stunde” is to be seen on festivals in the future…a first preview was to be seen and heard at BERLIN MUSIC WEEK / POPKOMM, Flughafen Tempelhof…
