“Sturm und Drang Remixes” features 5 new takes on tracks of the critically acclaimed ROBOSONIC debut album “Sturm und Drang”.
The release at the same time completes the era of the “Sturm und Drang” album works & reworks (in the form of 1 CD album, 3 vinyls with remixes, 3 music videos, release parties, tours and an art exhibition) by Berlin-based DJ & producer team ROBOSONIC, and it initiates their new label 0001. Album tracks so far have been remixed by the likes of JESSE ROSE, OLIVER KOLETZKI, FLORIAN MEINDL, CHRISTOPHER JUST, DEADSET, SANTIAGO & BUSHIDO and JAN HERTZ. These awesome remixes have all been released on vinyl and digitally on the ROBOSONIC vinyl label DISKOMAFIA, and helped spread the word about the ROBOSONIC music internationally.

“Sturm und Drang Remixes” is the first release on this digital-only label, showcasing a ROBOSONIC “Refresh” of their track “Yasmin”, as well as remixes by the groovy brothers from Hamburg DEO & Z-MAN (Opossum / 3rd Wave), the Finnish Techno artist JUHO KAHILAINEN (Prologue), the Argentinean streetart & music combo FASE (Igloo / Airdrop) and the Canadian producer MICAH (Ruhnsong).

DEADSET: 2007 was the year of this sympathetic producer and live duo from London, as their debut album “Keys Open Doors” received rave reviews from the press and support from DJs and house music lovers the world over. DJs such as Jesse Rose, Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Andrew Weatherall and Claude Von Stroke have been playing their tracks everywhere to great effect. The duo formally known as CASS + MANGAN have previously remixed the likes of Miss Kittin, Röyksopp, Tiefschwarz, Justin Timberlake and the Scissor Sisters. They have had releases and remixes on labels such as Fine, Blu Fin, Souvenir, Made To Play, DirtyBird, Moon Harbour, Wall Of Sound and Tsuba…

SANTIAGO & BUSHIDO: Amidst the countless DJ’s and producers working in the burgeoning Chicago house scene, Santiago & Bushido stand apart from the rest with a blend of heavy house-tinged funk-tech tracks that has given them critical moxie in Chicago and beyond. Chris Santiago and Tim Bush have been creating a buzz as of late, as the “For What” EP on Potty Mouth was released to critical praise and support from dj’s across the globe including Switch and Johnny Fiasco – with their single “Head Trick” climbing the charts on Beatport.com and holding the nr.1 download spot for a few weeks… Let there be JACK ! …

Here comes the second official 12” of ROBOSONIC in anticipation to their debut album “Sturm und Drang” (to be released in September 2007)! After numerous remix-productions which will be released on different labels within the next months, the last album track “Die Verwandlung” was chosen to be the follow-up to the great success of “Yasmin” (incl. Koletzki & Meindl and Coconut Wireless Remixes) released early 2007.

The young independent DJ-Team and producer duo ROBOSONIC is made up of Sacha Robotti living in Berlin and Cord Henning Labuhn (also known for HipHop production under the name “Schall”) meanwhile living in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires.
So far they have been tearing apart clubs, illegal raves, parades and festivals all over the world, playing an innovative wild mix of electronic music they refer to as “Dance Entertainment for Junkies and Joggers”.

“Die Verwandlug” (German for “The Metamorphosis”.. see Kafka) is a subtle morphing track on the deep edge of minimalism. Its strange atmoshere is crafted by weird sound textures and a patient, determined arrangement with surprises.

“Der Ritt” is a techhouse horse riding adventure about the happy lonely but desperately love-seeking gauchos ROBOSONIC literally taking place in the wide and beautiful Pampa of Berlin-Kreuzberg. It takes quite a journey to reach the climax of melodic melancholy and true skool kitsch sung to you by ugly nightowls hiding behind big white piles of snow.

JESSE ROSE [Get Physical/ Dubsided], master of fidget house remixes, delivers what he is known for: his very own vision of sound. Bleepy, bouncy, surprising house or something hard to define? Jesse metamorphoses “Die Verwandlung” from scratch, creating a free interpretation.
The remix by CHRISTOPHER JUST [International DJ Gigolo/ Kitsuné], a “harder” and more straightforward interpretation bathing in acid, is destined to fit in record cases of techno DJs.
