// About // Bio:
ROBOSONIC aka Cord Henning Labuhn and Sacha Robotti, made quite an impression on the international
scene in 2012 courtesy of their summer hit record, âWorst Loveâ. Released on OFF Recordings and with the
B-Side âThankfulâ and a remix by their homie Dr. Dru, the record soon became a classic, with its longstanding
success on Beatport and chartings by players like DJ Sneak. Indeed, it even went so far as claiming the no.1
spot on Resident Advisorâs monthly chart and no.35 in their âTop Charted Tracks of 2012â!
As a follow up, Robosonic released âOver the Edgeâ EP in fall 2012. Again, the response was overwhelming,
with the record peaking at Number 6 in the Beatport Deep House Chart and staying in the Top 100 for over
six months! Both âWorst Love and âThe Edge â became two of OFF Recordings biggest hits to date, helping
Andre Cromâs imprint to become one of the currently most sought-after labels on the planet. Label nights in
venues as far afield as Colombia and Mexico soon followed – proof if needed that the artists and the label are
here to stay.
Yet make no mistake about it â Robosonic are no spring chickens in this game! Their career is the story of an
uncompromising artistic hussle, a fight for musical independence, a strong belief in making it happen against
all odds. For over seven years now theyâve been busy building their reputation as producers of the finest
beats and DJs of some repute – as they slay dance floors worldwide through their unique, potent and multidimensional
style, be it on festivals, illegal raves, penthouse parties, clubs, the TV or radio. Productions and
DJ skills aside, itâs the duoâs lovable personalities and their penchant for âkeeping it realâ thatâs endeared them
to a vast audience.
Going back in time: in 2007, Robosonic released their debut album, Sturm und Drang, on their – now defunct -
Diskomafia label, complete with a series of 12ââ and remixes by luminaries of the underground, not least Play
It Downâs Jesse Rose, Stil vor Talentâs Oliver Koletzki, Trapezâs Florian Meindl and Gigoloâs Christopher Just.
After almost four years of self-imposed abstinence from original productions – in which they relentlessly toured
clubs, hosted their podcast âBerlin Kreuzberg Institutâ and ventured into the rave merchandise business with a
ârobosonic yellowâ towelling scarf named âPunchiâ â the boys got back down in 2011: their sublime release on
Jackmode Music entitled âThe Sweetnessâ, with Dirtybirdâs J.Phlip own interpretation, was soon charted by
the likes of Claude Vonstroke and licensed to Cassy & Joris Voornâs âCocoon Heroesâ.
To bring us up-to-date, Nov 2012 saw a Robosonic Remix for Channel X on Oliver Koletzkiâs label Stil Vor
Talent. The collaboration with this label so far culminated in the release of the Robosonic record âFeldrecord
Im Zirkusâ in Jan 2013. Their artful EP pays tribute to pianist Laura Weider, who played a 40-hour concert in
Berlinâs infamous Bar 25, an official Guiness world record! Robosonic â always striving for unique ways to
produce music – used samples and field recordings from the pianistâs performance and the publicâs
atmosphere to create a club track that embraces the weird and wonderful vibe of the moment.
For 2013, expect Robosonic to consolidate their previous success, as they are set out to hit another level
again! Not only with a re-work of Johnny Corporateâs âSunday Shoutinâ on Defected, a remix for David Keno
on Noir Music, and a very special remix of Kerri Chandlerâs classic âHallelujahâ released on the legendary
NYC house label King Street Sounds, but also with the long-awaited collaboration between Robosonic &
Adana Twins. The two duoâs âLa Fique EPâ dropped in June on 2DIY4, a branch of the infamous Diynamic
which can show off hits by Solomun, Stimming and Amine Edge â and by the end of July it was still no.1 in the
Beatport Indie Dance charts! Coming up in August is a single release on Off Recordings, âShe Was On My
Mindâ with Stefano Ritteri, which has already seen support on BBC Radio 1 by Pete Tong.
